Tired of shaving?!

go for Laser Hair Removal

''The average woman shaves about 7,718 times and spends an average of $10,000 on shaving related products in her lifetime.'' - Statistics

For many men and women, unwanted hair is a nuisance, or even a source of embarrassment. Until recently, Laser hair removal has been uncomfortable, time-consuming, expensive and provided results that were inconsistent at best.

Advances in Laser Technology have resulted in far better results, and treatments that are safer, faster and more comfortable than ever before. Laser hair removal works on just about any area of the body where smooth skin is desired; underarms, face, neck, back, legs, shoulders, bikini line, you name it. Today we are proud to announce our new addition of the German engineered Asclepion MeDioStar Effect Laser Machine offering a variety of Laser treatments performed by well trained qualified Laser Technicians.

Laser is for Men too!

''Men over the age of 35 shave an average of six times a week. The average man will have spent about 900 hours shaving (the equivalent of 37 and a half days) between ages 15 and 75. The average man begins to shave regularly when he begins to work regularly. The average man spends between 10 to 15 hours a year shaving.'' - Statistics

If you are thinking of going shirtless at the beach or anywhere else, you may want to make sure that your body hair is under control if you think it's not. The amount and coarseness of hair vary from man to man, but we all know that our body hair has the tendency to grow a little out of control if not well maintained. If you plan on rocking no shirt at all or ditching those costly razors, then we recommend you considering Laser Hair Removal. It is one of the more popular methods out there amongst both men and women.

   Asclepion MeDioStar Effect

Asclepion MeDioStar Effect

Our Laser Machine  The High Power Diode Lasers of the MeDioStar Effect, represent state of the art technology for permanent hair reduction treatments amongst other treatments the machine offers. The wavelengths of the MeDioStar Effect device were chosen in such a way that the absorption of the light is very high in melanin, but low in water (important substance in the skin), therefore providing for a very selective and safe treatment, with very low risk of side effects. At the same time, this makes it possible to treat even dark skin types (up to skin type VI) with very low risk of hypo-pigmentation.

How it works?  When treating hair, the energy emitted by the high power diode laser is used to prevent the regrowth of the hair. To do this, the light has to penetrate several millimeters into the skin to reach the root of the hair. When it meets the melanin in the hair (brown color), the light is absorbed, i.e. it is converted into heat. The darker, thicker and denser the hair, the more heat is produced. This heat damages the cells responsible for hair regrowth within the hair and in the immediate area around the hair. This ensures a drastic reduction in hair in the treated area.
At the same time, it must be ensured that, despite the heat produced, no blisters or scars develop. That’s why all of Asclepion’s hair removal technologies include a powerful skin-cooling element, which always cools the most superficial layer of the skin immediately before the light pulse. It also makes the treatment more comfortable for the patient.

Skin Types  Our machine has become a synonym for safe depilation, including for darker skin types. Its high power reaches hair follicles at deeper levels. Even when using higher energy densities, the application always remains delicate, guaranteeing low risk and gentle treatment for patients. The laser light penetrates the superficial skin layers, and the melanin pigments contained in the hair follicles absorb the energy. This absorption turns the light energy into heat, damaging the surrounding cell layers, which are responsible for hair regrowth.

Due to the optimum design of the MeDioStar Effect laser, side effects of more than slight redness and swelling around dark hair are very rare.

PRE-Treatment Instructions

FOLLOWING ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL MAXIMIZE YOUR TREATMENT RESULTS

* Closely shave the treatment area as close to your appointment time as possible.

* Only shave the treatment area during your treatment process, no plucking, waxing, bleaching, threading or any method of hair removal that will pull the hair out by the root. The hair must remain intact beneath the skin.

* Arrive to your appointment with clean skin; do not apply creams, lotions, or deodorant.

* Use of tanning beds, self-tanning lotions, creams, and sun exposure on the area to be treated must be avoided for 2-4 weeks prior to treatment. This is extremely important to avoid blistering and potential scarring.

* Wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 or more on the treatment area every day for the duration of your treatment process.

* If you are now or at any time during your treatment process orally or topically using photosensitive medications (i.e. Antibiotics, St. Johns Wort, Accutane, etc.), please inform us immediately. You must be off of these drugs for 10 days to 6 months depending on the drug before you can be treated safely.

* Avoid aspirin and aspirin containing products for 2 days prior to treatment.

* Avoid Retin-A, Retinols, Glycolics, Salicylics on the treatment area 3 days prior to treatment.

* If you are using a topical anesthetic, please apply 15 minutes to 30 minutes before your treatment. If you need to apply the anesthetic at our clinic, please make appointment arrangements with the reception desk prior to your treatment.

POST-Treatment Instructions

* Wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 or more on the treatment area every day for the duration of your treatment process.

* If needed, you may use cool compresses on the treatment area for the first several hours after your treatment.

* Aloe Vera gel may be applied to help soothe the treatment area.

* Avoid sun exposure to the treatment area during the treatment process.

* Avoid sweating, saunas, swimming pools, lakes or ocean water for 24 hours after your treatment.

* If treating the bikini area, avoid any friction or chaffing for 24-48 hours after your treatment.

* Use cool water, a gentle cleanser and a soft cloth to cleanse the treatment area for 24-48 hours after your treatment.

* Avoid exfoliating scrubs or brushes for 24-48 hours post treatment.

* If you are treating over freckled or pigmented areas, you may notice these areas get darker the 1st couple of days.  This is normal and should not be of concern. Do not try to scrub off. The area will flake off within 1-2 weeks.

* If a blister or crusting appears, or you have a histamine reaction (itching), please call the clinic, you may need an antibiotic ointment or a Hydrocortisone cream. This is a possibility with any laser treatment.

* Make-up can be applied to the treatment area if needed.
